TATA SAFARI STORM

Tata Motors is all set to bring in its much awaited SUV, Tata Safari Storme this year. Safari Storme codenamed earlier as Tata Merlin, was unveiled at the Auto Expo this year. Apparently, the Tata Safari Storme launch will be done by the end of April or beginning of May 2012. This SUV will ride on Tata Aria platform and would turn out to be an awesome performer on road and off road as the X2 chassis and double wishbone suspension is borrowed from Aria. The Tata Safari Storme carries the same 2.2 litre of DiCOR engine but will be mated to a new G76 MKII gearbox for better gear shifts. Thisengine is capable of producing the same 140 BHP of power along with 315 Nm of torque. The interiors have been done in pseudo wood finish, while the high quality upholstery further adds more charm to the SUV. The wheel arches on the exterior have been done beautifully with new wheels, which comes out to be the USP of the car. Tata Safari Storme price would be kept competitive thereby giving a strong competition to its rivals in the Indian car market. Our guess is around Rs 10 lakh.

MAHINDRA MINI XYLO
Mahindra & Mahindra wants to dip all its fingers in butter. The hysteria about Mahindra XUV 500 has not even dimmed and company is making news with a host of upcoming vehicles. Mahindra Auto is foraying into the sub 4-meter cars range tooth and nail. The much awaited among them is the Mahindra Xylo Mini. The launch of Mahindra Xylo Mini is expected to take place during the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi.  Mahindra Xylo Mini is the compact SUV which is specifically a toned down version of the Mahindra Xylo in terms of dimensions and engine. The Xylo Mini is a 5-seater expected to come with a 1.1498 cc 3-cylinder CRDI engine from the range of Mahindra’s CRDI engines. Mahindra Xylo Mini will have the advantage of the low price in comparison to the premium hatchbacks and the sedans with the consumers looking for a small family car.
AUDI Q3 2.0 TDI
Audi Q3, the baby SUV by Audi will soon be seen on Indian roads too as the entry level product is on the brink of launch. To be launched in 2 litre diesel engine only, the SUV will sport a 7 speed automatic dual clutch DSG gearbox including the manual S-tronic mode and the Quattro all-wheel drive system. This will definitely take its price ahead of the arch rival BMW X1 which costs between Rs 22.40 lakh-Rs 30.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

HYUNDAI ELANTRA

Hyundai Motors India, the second largest car maker and the top exporter in the country, is all set to launch its fourth generation premium sedan, 2012 Hyundai Elantra. This new sedan was unveiled at the 11th Auto Expo and managed to receive an awe-inspiring response. The official launch date hasn’t been finalized so far, but fresh reports suggest that 2012 Hyundai Elantra will sizzle on the Indian roads in next four to five months. Under the bonnet, this new premium D-segment sedan will come with 2 engine options, one being the dynamic 1.8 litre of petrol engine with VTVT and the other being 1.6 litre of CRDI VGT engine. The engine has been coupled with both manual and automatic transmission. With all the strong specification, the 2012 Hyndai Elantra price would be pretty hefty and is expected to range between Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 14 lakh.

CHEVROLET ENJOY

Chevrolet Enjoy MPV was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2012. The MPV has been tailored for local market conditions and would be priced at about Rs 7 lakh.
